I am swapping out a motor and Trans from a 1993 Lumina into my 1992 Lumina. The wire harness has a different plug into the front of the Trans. The one that is on the original (1992) has 5 wires going to it and the one that is going into the car (1993) has 6 wires and the plugs are different shape. The 1992 has the kick down cable going from the throttle body into the Trans and the 1993 does not so I am assuming that the 6th wire is an electrical kick down. Correct me if I am wrong.
My question is how do I make this 1993 work as far as hooking up the wire harness.
Can I splice wires and use the plug that fits? If so where is that 6th wire going.
Do I have to change computers also?
I have the entire 1993 car so I should be able to rob from it whatever I need.
The 1993 has only 66000 miles on it which is why I am doing this.
Thanks
