1992 Chevy Lumina How to change rear brakes

Do you have to replace the 2-way valve on the brake. My son was trying to change the brakes and rotor and where he was reading to make sure he was change them right said something about having to change the valve, so my brakes wont get changed until he is sure about this

no, it's not necessary to replace the proportioning or combination valve during brake bad, shoe, rotor or caliper replacement.
