im about to change my water pump, i have a newer s-belt( about 20,000 miles on it tops) i was told when i put it back on to reverse it or flip it around. good idea or not? the belt is in very good condition.

I disagree with that statement
if you are to use the same belt you should mark it so you will be able to return it the same way
