dimmer switch dont work

i have a 2002 impala and the headlight dimmer switch when pulled back the high beam will come on but not stay on, there is indentation or click when the lever is pulled back.
is there any fix for this besides pulling the steering wheel and changing the multi-function switch?
i just priced the switch and wow they are expensive besides the trouble pulling the steering wheel with all the accessories with it.

only option is to replace the switch.
