my car(1990 Acura Integra RS) was running fine when the engine just shuts off and rpm gauge fell from 3000 rpm to 0. It happened before and it started fine. I tried starting it this time and it would not start. After not touching it for several hours I tried starting it once again but it wouldn't...I was thinking that I flooded it. Now i don't know what happened when the engine just shuts off. Can somebody help me

What to check next

Diagnostic guidance. Suggested checks and possible repairs are separate from the owner's reported results.

Ask for the ignition-test findings and whether repair restored starting and running. If the fault remains, have the ignition supply and control circuit assessed using the correct service information.

Check your distributor, remove the distributor cap to inspect for rust color powder. If present replace the distributor with new.

Discussion summary

Acura Integra stalling

A 1990 Acura Integra stalled abruptly, with the tachometer dropping to zero, and subsequently would not restart. The owner later reported that a mechanic identified a problem with the igniter.

Reported outcome: A mechanic's igniter diagnosis was reported; replacement and a successful restart were not documented.

The later clutch question is unrelated. A distributor inspection suggestion was not a confirmed distributor failure.
