I "inherited" this car from a parent who can no longer drive. The adjustable lumbar support on the driver's seat does not "relax" enough and is killing my back. Is there a way to fix this? I've adjusted the seat every way I can with no luck. At this point, I've stopped driving the car. Had I been purchasing the car, I never would have bought it due to the uncomfortable driver's seat.

steve martin wrote a funny story in the late seventies titled cruel shoes. the seat on the 07-09 impala is a cruel seat. there is a fix.remove the pannel on the rear of the upper seat.unhook the two cruel springs that connect the cruel lumbar torture device to the seat frame. this should solve the problem.
