2006 Chevy Impala impala makes knocking sound

My 06 chevy impala makes a knocking sound coming from the engine when idling, and i dont know what it is, how can i fix that problem, without paying alot of money because its out of warranty

If there is an engine knock, that usually indicates a bearing or journal problem. Make sure the the oil pressure is acceptable at an idle. If it is not, you may need to clean or replace the oil pump.
