2006 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Automatic

each time i turn on the A/C i hear a clicking noise, it sounds like it's coming from the dashboard what is it and does it cost alot of money?

Hi:
It sounds like a relay. I believe they are located under the dash behind the glove box. If the AC is still working, so is the relay. However, there is no way to tell for how long.
