Engine Performance problem
2004 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 98.756 miles

Changed theromostate, restarted engine, everything was running fine. Minute to a minute and 1/2 after idling, the idle jumped to 3-5000rpm. Cannot find anything wrong. Would like to know what could be wrong. It's Saturday and I need the car Monday for work.
