I have been having issues with my car going into high idle. I can't seem to find any consistency with the problem and it only seems to happen a few times a month. It will accelerate by itself to the point where I don't have to hit the gas at all when driving in town. I was wondering, because it is so sporadic, would this more likely be a sensor or something (versus a vacuum issue)?

Clean out the idle air control valve and test the throttle position sensor.
