2004 Chevy Impala heat

when i start car never get any heat but gauge shows temp normal, just like cool air coming thru vents but start driving and will get heat

check coolant and add if needed

check heater core hoses
if one hot and the other not
flush heater core
check water pump operation

There is a bad problem with theese cars getting air in the heater core. raise the front of the vehicle and add some coolant. This might get some of the air out. You might also have to use a vacuum fill tool to get the air out.
