2004 Chevy Impala fuel cleaning

2004 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 70.000 miles

My car dealer said I am due for a fuel cleaning..$50.00, what do they do? and I assume it is worth it, but would a bottle of STP do the same thing??

I’m not sure what they do, but for $50 probably not much. Maybe they replace your fuel filter and put a bottle of injection system cleaner in your tank…for that price they surely don’t clean your injectors off car or anything. You can replace your fuel filter yourself; it’s not difficult and a new filter costs around $10. If you don’t have one already, get you a manual (Chilton/Haynes), that’ll make your life easier.
