Hi:
With the AC and defroster off, does the pulley spin?

Hi:
If you remove the compressor, you will need to measure the new size needed for the belt. Just make sure that the new belt clears everything when reinstalled without the compressor.
Let me know if you run into trouble.

I found a used compressor with a 30 day warranty for short money. I'm going to roll the dice and put this in until the summer. My repair manual recommends I replace the accumulator and orifice tube? Since it's a used compressor and I think I know why the old one failed ( It was left in denver for three months this summer. Hindsight tells me I should have charged the system when I brought the car back to New England. It was probable out of lubricant) given these circumstances do you think the accumulator is bad? Why do they ask you to change this too. Thanks for all your help. Dan

Dan,
The Accumulator should be ok. The primary concern is contamination to the system if exposed. If it's a used compressor that you're going to replace in the summer, I wouldn't be too concerned.
Have a great Christmas.
