Heater problem
2004 Chevy Impala Front Wheel Drive Automatic
I'm told the heater core is getting what it needs, but he thinks its the 'door' that turns/switches it from cold to heater. Whats involved in getting that fixed?

Whats the actuator? The shop guy that's booked up thinks it may be the door thing. Another shop wants to keep my car and remove the dash to look.

The actuator is the motor the turns the mode doors and blend doors. They should be able to remove the sctuator and see if the door move freely

Where would this be, and how hard is it to gain access to it? Is it a do your self thing or really should have someone do it at a shop?

Unless you have the proper tools, and know how, I would suggest having a professional fo it. Here is something you can try< remove the HVAC fuse for 30 seconds and reinstall it. Make sure the key is off when you do this. Now reinstall the fuse and turn the key on. Wait about a minute and see if everything is working ok
