2003 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

what would cause water to fill into the oil pan
a blown head gasket ???
please advise...

no not a blown head gasket, you have leaking intake manifold gaskets. gm in their fine wisdom made them out of plastic and rubber. since they failed in every engine they put them in, its now made out of hard rubber and metal. very very common.

I would check the intake manifold and gasket 1st very common issue
