is it possible to replace or unclog the cat converter myself? It will be $700 to fix it. OUCH!!!!

No, tampering with the converter is a federal offense. It is punnishable by prison time and very hefty fines. The material inside the converter is no so good for your health either. I recommend taking it to an exhaust shop. It should be cheaper than $700.00
