Trying to replace car battery. Disconnected the terminal wires (pos and neg); however, can not remove the battery from the car - too tight. What is the method in removing the old battery to install the new one?

Did you remove the holder in the front of battery down low. Its held in with a 13mm bolt

Need to provide more info - the clamp holding down the battery has been removed. So, the battery is free from the lock down mechanism and the wires to the terminals has been removed. I am physically unable to remove the battery itself from the location due to clearance issues. Note, the overhead support has been removed. Is there something else that needs to be removed/relocated so the battery can have enough clearance on being removed?

Ok I know exactly what your talking about. No nothing else needs to be removed. There is a battery carrying tool that fits right down the sides and clamps the battery sides and you slide it out. If you dont do that you have to grab it real tight on the sides and slide it out. Its tight but you can do it. The tool costs about 10 bucks if you need one
