The piece connecting the rear hub to the frame has broken

That's a stabilizer shaft. If you're handy with tools, you could replace it yourself. If not, take it to a shop.

Either way, you'll have to replace that before you drive that vehicle further.

Also, whatever impact that was strong enough to break that part, probably damaged/bent something else.
