2002 Chevy Impala door locks

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Impala with 86000 miles. When you push the lock button on the remote lock pad the lights flash and the horn honks. But the doors do not lock. When you try to lock the doors with swith inside the car nothing happens. You have to lock all doors manually.
