2001 Chevy Impala WINDSHEILD WIPER

Hello –

To better assist you, if you need to get back with me, please tell me the model of your vehicle. Is it just and Impala or an LS. Also the engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.

Based off what you have said…..did they just start all of a sudden hitting each other?

Have you tried removing both wiper arms…….turn the wipers on and let them run…..then turn them off. They should be in park mode then. Now, re-attach the wiper arms to the lowest point on the windshield.

It's an Impala with a 3.4L engine. It snowed with freezing rain, the driver side wiper wouldn't move but the passenger side did. After it thawed both sides would move and that when they start hitting each other. I took the passenger side wiper off and let the driver side run, it goes all the way over past the point it's supposed to stop at.

It is possible you have stripped the gears on the arm or to the motor. Have you had time to do what I said above………..if not, try that and let me know.

Remove both wiper arms…….turn the wipers on and let them run for about a minute…..then turn them off. They should be in park mode then. Now, re-attach the wiper arms to the lowest point on the windshield.

Turn on and see how they do.
