I have a 2001 Chevy Impala with a transmission problem that cause my check engine light to stay on. I had the code 742 and 1811. I took it to every transmission shop in town and they stated that it needed to be rebuilt because it was slipping. Ok I decided to get it rebuilt and the next day after I got my car back the check engine light came back on after driving the car for a while and my car was doing the same thing it was doing before jerking. Come to find out the 742 code came up again. I talk to the transmission repair shop they stated that they put in a new torque converter, rebuilt the valve body, and replace the tcc solenoid. Don’t forget I just got the transmission overhaul. I took the car back and they stated that it might be a bad solenoid or a little trash may have got on the solenoid and they going to replace it. So if they replace the solenoid and the check engine light come back on with the same code 742 what should I do from there?
