2001 Chevy Impala dome light not gounded

2001 CHEVROLET IMPALA

dome light do not come on
check fuse its good
check bulb its good
check ground line to chase of cer its good

but if i run a wire to the gound side of the dome light to the body of the car it works that mean something not gounded off what nis it
