Shakes or Wobbles problem
2001 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My 2001 chevy Impala shakes when I accelerate at high speeds. It makes a loud growning like noise as I begin to accelerate (at low speeds), as well as when I am slowing down. The Noise seems to be coming from the front driverside of the car. I noticed that when I drive slow, with the driver's window down, I can hear a clicking like sound coming from the front left tire.The noises happen when turning and driving straight. However, the breaks are almost new. The trembling is unbearable at high speeds. Most of my friends say it could be an axle problem. But none of them are mechanics. I would like to have an idea of what I'm looking to fix before I go to a mechanic.
