2001 Chevy Impala

My car was hit by lightning. The mechanic says it needs a new computer module. How much will this cost?

Hello there,

BCM and PCM cost over $300 a piece, plus they have to be programmed for your car, and installed (these two operations are not necessarily difficult but they’ll add to the final bill). Your best bet is to call around to find who’s cheaper. However, cheaper doesn’t mean better; sometime this kind of job is better left to a Chevy dealer.
