2000 Chevy Impala V6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 157000 miles

I have a 2001 Impala. 157000 miles. I drive a lot of gravel roads. My check engine light is on and I can not put fuel in the tank. The hose shuts off every 1/2 gallon. I can put gas in faster from a gas can. I have replaced twice some sensor in the fuel tank that regulates putting fuel in the tank. Now when my tank gets low the fuel gage is stuck on full because the sensor says my tank is full. I have replaced this sensor twice costing me $500 each time. The last time was a year ago and 20,000 miles ago. They tell me this part is a GM part and only has a 10,000 mile warranty and because of the roads I travel it will likely break again. I want to fix my problem but not if it is going to go bad again. Is there something I can do to keep this sensor clean so it will not go bad or is something else causing the sensor to go bad.

Sounds like more of a filler neck problem than a sensor. The fillers usually have a non computer controlled vent so the tank can be filled when the car is off. The tank unit has nothing to do with the filler neck. Need to inspect for collapsed hose/kinks.
