Computer problem
2000 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Automatic 158.00 miles

I have a 2000 Chevy Imapala car. I have had the issue twice as of this evening with the gas tank. I was nearing on empty and when I began to fill up the gas kept comming back out and would not go past a few cents. My dad suggessted I rock the car back and forth and hit the rear with my ass but it worked last time. This time it did not. I really do not know what to do or how to fix this. I don't have a lot of money and I need help ASAP because I am leaving to live with my girlfriend next week and I need an easy and affordable way to fix this fast. Something under one-hundred dollars is fine for fixing the problem.

If you look under the car at the filler tube (where you put the gas), you will see a smaller hose follow it to the fuel tank. THat is a breather and it leads from the tank to the top of the filler. WHen the gas goes in the tank, air has to come out. If that tube is damaged or plugged, there is nowhere for the gas to go so you have the problem you described.

CHeck it for damage (crushed) or remove the rubber hose from the tank that attaches to it to see if there is something blocking it.

Let me know what you find.
