2000 Chevy Impala Engine knocking

When I go up hills my car feels like it's not getting gas and start to sputter and knock then the service engine light will blink. Plus my fuel gauge jumps all around. what casues this?

your gas gauge is the fuel level sensor. as for the no performance it sounds like a cat converter, have the check engine light check and get back to me with the code. your local parts store can scan it for you
