2000 Chevy Impala Drivers side window

I went outside to find my drivers side window down and it would not roll up. I could hear the window motor trying to work but would not. The weird thing about it was when I came home earlier it was rolled up when I turned the car off. The other windows work fine. Any answers?

Hi Fred,
Sounds like the Register Assembly inside the driver's door has broken a cable and the register will need to be replaced.
