i have a 2000 impala 3.8 v6.. I WAS RECENTLY INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT AQND IT WAS ON THE DRIVER FRONT SIDE.....WHERE THE BUMPER ENDS THERE WAS A HOSE CONNECTED TO SOMETHING BUT WHEN I TURN THE CAR ON, THE HOSE BLOWS OUT AIR....I FOUND WHERE IT GOES BUT ITS A PLASTIC CONTAINER THAT LOOKS SORT OF LIKE A PUMP.... I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THAT IS

That would be your secondary air injection pump. This is part of your emissions system.
