i have a 1984 impala and the car starts right up and drives great but i notice this knocking sound coming from the engine what might this be?

things that make a knocking sound

a slipped ring on the HMB
bad rod bearings
bad crank bearings
a cracked flexplate
a collapsed piston skirt.
cam shaft walking
crank shaft walking

that about all that i can think of.
