My impala would not start. I turned the key and nothing, so I bought a rebuilt starter and still nothing. Then I bought a starter switch and nothing. I checked the starter relay and I get juice at the terminals, but not the selinoid terminals on the starter, both ignition and starter wires are dead. I get juice at the positive cable going to the starter. Could the starter relay be bad even though the test light comes on when I touch the terminals. The wires seem ok going from the selenoid to the relay and ignition switch. I'm in need of advise. Any help will be appreciated because she has been sitting all winter and needs to get out. Steve

Do you have battery voltage at the starter relay with the key on? Do you have power at the relay when in the crank position?

If you get power in and out of the relay then the starter is no good. Have you checked for power at the small wire at the starter? Did you install the starter correctly. The small wire goes on the s terminal of the starter. Is the relay properly grounded?

The starter is new. When I had this problen from the beginning, the first thing I did was buy a rebuilt starter at autozone. I hooked the s wire to the relay and the I wire to the ignition switch. The ground on the relay has never been disconnected, but I wll do that and check for corrosion. I don't think autozone sold me a faulty starter since I still have the same problem before I bought it. I did buy a universal Ignition switch for a corvette/Impala on ebay. I don't think that would matter? Thanks for helping me. Steve
