I am having an intermittant problem with the shifting , sometimes I have 2nd and 3rd gears and sometimes I have all four. Is there a speed sensor of some sort that is not functioning?

It could be the vehicle speed sensor or a bad shift solenoid. Has the check engine light ever come on? If it hasn't, you will need to have the parts checked to determine which one is bad.
