1999 Chevy Express Is it the solenoid? Where is the slolen

The van will start some days and some days it won't. When it doesn't it makes a loud clicking noise with some engine noise but the engine does not turn over.

Check for 12 volts at the small wire on the starter with key in crank position. If it has power then the starter needs to be replaced. If none, then get back to me and we will figure out where it stops, but it sounds like the starter is due to be replaced.Not sure if you could find just a solenoid anymore, but it is mounted to the starter motor.Personally I would replace the entire starter
