I just had my car checked out and was told that the whining was caused by a "center support bearing". I had it greased and was told he could last a week or 2 yrs.

Can you tell me where it is located on the car and if this needs to be replaced a some pioint.

The Chevy Dealer said it was the center support bearing. It can be greased or replaced. To replace it is at $800. I chose to have it greased. They said it could last 1 day or several years. However, they did not grease, they used oil. I have a personal mechanic that inserted grease with a small tool. The whining has stopped.

I believe I will continue to have it greased.
