2005 Chevy Equinox blower switch

The blower switch on the console has some sort of short in it. We have had the car for 3 years now and every winter the blower switch will work sometimes and sometimes wont. there is no rhyme or reason except the cold weather

Power the blower motor direct from battery, it should come on if the ground side is good. Other causes could be the blower motor relay, blower switch and HVAC control module.
