Where is the battery located at on a 2005 chevy equinox?

You will find the battery under the cover located behind head lamp assembly, on the driver side. Remove the three screws that secure the cover and push the four tabs on the heat sink looking with the cords running from it. Then remove the larger cover to reveal the battery.
