The car has been sitting for three years. I recently purchased the car and I found out the car runs good but floods after about fifteen minutes. I replace the quadrojet carb with an edelbrock 600, installed every adaptor that was needed. NOW! the car starts but stays running only with my foot on the gas? What have I done wrong?

new spark plugs, wires, filters and battery so far

Did you adjust the air/fuel mixture and idle screw properly If so check the EGR valve could be cracked open causing it not to idle
