1982 Chevy El Camino V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 10k miles

hello, i am baffled... finishing a head gasket install on a chevy 350 in an el camino. i am down to just reinstalling the dipstick tube, i see where it goes ( right side of engine) problem is, the exhaust manifold is directly in front of the dipstick hole in the block and there is no room to fit the tube in between the head and exhaust, this is crazy, something so simple holding me up.

Tube snakes up between head and exhaust kicker is it goes on before you bolt exhaust thenj bracket on tube bolts on to exhaust.

what is the exhaust kicker? i know what the exhaust manifold is, never heard the term " kicker". sorry for my ignorance.

Behind manifold , kicker refered to having to take it off the exhaust maniflod.
