Electrical problem
1978 Chevy El Camino V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I wrote in awhile back that my cruise, headlight and turn signal switch is still attached by the wire. I am missing the connection between the arm and the trun signal mechanism. I can disassemble the top of the column if needed. Where do I find the piece for the connection? What is it called?
Also I have been advised to replace the entire column. What years makes and models will fit my 1978? The ones that I have seen have a thick large trun signal arm, mine is the slim small end cap push button type. I have been given references to Buick, S-10 and others but only on vague terms.
I really need my high beam and turn signals, I can live without cruise. DAVE

look on cars.com I think that is it, they have all repo parts that will match your system with out changing the column. your connector should be down the column under the dash. the Cars people may even have a catalog with a blow up of exactly where it is..
