I'd like to know what this is and makebe an extimate to repair. I also have a quesion about the AC not cooling after adding freon. I assume it's loosing freon.

No not that they can tell. They added coolant. It cooled for a while then stopped.

The repair shop should be able to check it. They have a dye that is put in and locates leaks
