I have a 93 corvette LT1, bored to 383 and supercharged w/ a vortec V1. When I took it out of storage I got a strong smell of gasoline, both while driving and when parked. There is no visable leaks. Is it likely that my fuel pressure is too high or do I have bad plugs or wires? My power seems good but on hard acceleration I get a single backfire as the car takes off.

Could be one of the fuel lines is rusted, cracked, or a connection has come loose.

Especially with possible rusting, the outside of the line could just be saturated with gas and not nessesarily dripping.

I know 'cause it's happened to me. Stong smell of gas but nothing on the ground.

Not sure about the backfire.
