Engine Mechanical problem
2000 Chevy Corvette V8 Automatic 36000 miles
I just purchased a 2000 corvette with 36000 miles on it. When I looked at the car it ran great, but apparently it was warmed up already. When I went to drive it home (about a 4 hour drive) and started it, it sounded very sickly (like someone had poured a cup of marbles in the motor). After driving it a few blocks the noise stopped and it idled fine and sounded great the rest of the trip. Starting and stopping for gas on the way home, it sounded fine, but the next day, when I started it again the noise was back. I contacted the previous owner, who said that it did that when cold and he felt it was a tension pully assembly for one of the belts. Before taking it to be looked at, I would like to know if that could be the case or what other things could be causing the problem.
