i was in need of replacing the clutch which i had an appt. I was driving the car this weekend and noticed the entine going yet the car did not accelerate. i parked the car and this morning when i put the clutch in and turned the ignition key the car would not start. is this related to the clutch failure or another unrelated problem

Sounds like the clutch is slipping and for it not to crank -check the clutch switch, starter and ignition switch-Also check battery/connections

the car engine turns over but the car does not start so if the starter were bad and or ignition, that would not do that am i correct?

Cranks but will not start:

Get a helper disconnect a sparkplug wire or 2 and ground it to the engine -have helper crank engine over-do you have a snapping blue spark? If so-you have a fuel related problem, check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light. No snapping blue spark continue to troubleshoot the ignition system-power input to the coil/coil packs, coil's resistances, distributor pick-up coil, ignition control module, cam and crank sensors and computer Note: If it doesn't apply disregard it
