1988 Chevy Corvette fuel smell

I have an 88 corvette, and I get a strong fuel smell coming from the exhaust at the muffler,and I can't seem to find out what it is.Can anyone help me? Mitchl

it sounds like its running very rich
check fuel pressure regulator
check it for tune up
