Engine idles fast and slow and when on cruise control, it jerks bad, so I noticed the vacuum line coming from the PVC valve was not connected, so I reinstalled it and ran fine, but now when I first start it and put it in gear, it dies off until I let the engine get good and warm,, the PVC valve rattles and seems to be ok,, any suggestions?

Most likely due to the massive vacuum leak from the PVC hose, the computer try to readjust its parameters, it may take a few more starts and drive it around town and on the freeway so the computer can readjust normal operation.
