1987 Chevy Corvette How do I recharge the air conditioning

I am looking for the recharge port but I am also unsure whether I can recharge with the new refrigerant that is on the market. I think the freon was R-12 and I believe the new version is R34. Thanks for any help.

You can't mix the two some systems can be coverted to 134a. This is a job best left to a professional. The least that has to be done is new accumulator new seals on all hoses different orfice tube and possible compressor.
