1979 Chevy Corvette Hood release stuck

My hood cable pops the left and right side is stuck shut. Any advise? Thanks

if you haven't got it fixe d by now, smack the hood when you try to open it. after you get it oopen oil works wonders as far as making it not stick much longer....
