1976 Chevy Corvette V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual n/a miles

My car ran hot yesterday on the interstate, nut cooled down afterI got off the interstate on the way home. Now there is a valve ticking pretty loudly. What may have happened?

Internal engine damage
you need to have it checked
you may have a bad lifter and or need to be readjusted
check it or have it checked ASAP
