1996 Chevy Corsica 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the inside lights do not come on when you open the doors but they will come on if you turn them on manually, could you tell why the interior lights will not come on when you open any door? thank you

Hi:

There are switches in each door jam that turn the interior light on and off when the door is opened and closed. That would be the first place I check.
