1996 Chevy Corsica engine idle

I'm having a problem with low engine idle with the ac on, can you tell me what causes the engine to idle up when the ac is turned on.

Could be an idle up solenoid if it has one or the computer is not sensing an additional load on the engine therefore not increasing the idle speed thru the idle air control valve
